The 2026/27 Qualifying Rounds

Spain's 2026/27 Copa del Rey campaign opens with an early qualifying phase, with ties played across the weekend of Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September 2026. This stage brings together clubs from Spain's regional and lower-division scene, including AE Prat, Anaitasuna, Atlético Calatayud, Atlético Melilla, Atlético Pinatarense, Atlético Unión Güímar, Auriense Cented Academy, CD Baztán, CD San José, CD Tedeón, CF San Rafael, CP Talayuela, Ceuta 6 de Junio, Maracena, Ribadesella, SD Noja, Sporting Hortaleza, Sporting de Alcázar, Tavernes de la Valldigna and UB Lebrijana.

Each tie in this round is a first leg, with the aggregate score across both matches deciding which club advances to the next stage of the competition.

Venues Hosting the Early Ties

The qualifying phase is staged at community grounds rather than the country's largest arenas. Fixtures this round are being played at venues including Txerloia, San Íñigo Stadium in Zaragoza, Estadio Municipal de Lebrija, Oreyana Stadium, the Jose Antonio Perez Ureba Stadium in La Línea de la Concepción, the Ciudad Deportiva de Maracena, Municipal Sagnier, La Caseta in Santander, Manuel Delgado Meco and the Tavernes de la Valldigna ground in Manises.

Capacities at this stage of the competition are modest compared with the stadiums used once the tournament reaches its later rounds, and the ties are played in front of local, regional crowds rather than large travelling followings.

How the Draw Progresses

Copa del Rey runs as a straight knockout from this qualifying phase through to the final. The rounds that follow have their own page once each draw is confirmed: First Round, Second Round, Round of 32 and Round of 16, ahead of the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Final.

Beyond this opening qualifying tie, rounds in the competition are generally decided over a single match unless otherwise stated, so a club that comes through the early stage then faces a run of one-off knockout fixtures on the way to those later stages.
